WE SERVE ALL. WE HIRE ALL. WE ACCEPT ALL.

Aspire Indiana Health is a nonprofit provider of comprehensive “whole health” services including primary medical care, behavioral health, recovery services and programs addressing the social drivers of health such as housing and employment.  We are launching behavioral health services in Shelby County—and we’re looking for a dynamic, mission-driven leader to help build it from the ground up.

This is not a typical leadership role. It’s a rare opportunity to:

  • Be the first on the ground for Aspire Indiana Health in Shelby County, a new CMHC-designated region
  • Help shape the future of local behavioral health services from the ground up
  • Build real relationships with health systems, courts, and community leaders
  • Serve as a local architect of a future Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model
  • Work in a space where some things are still unknown, and help figure them out
  • Lead with creativity and compassion in a community-facing leadership role
  • Collaborate with a dynamic leadership team while owning the day-to-day in your region
  • Make a meaningful difference in the lives of people experiencing serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and behavioral health challenges

Aspire needs a leader who is:

  • Comfortable with ambiguity, energized by problem-solving
  • Naturally collaborative, relational, and rooted in community values
  • Ready to roll up their sleeves, and help others do the same
  • Committed to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed care
  • Grounded in behavioral health and excited about innovation both in terms of care delivery, and the development of partnerships in support of a connected system of care

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or a directly-related human service field from a college/university accredited by the US Department of Education highly preferred; Bachelor’s degree
  • Recognized as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) by the State of Indiana
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience, including at least three (3) years in a management role
  • Experience working with behavioral health, addiction or criminal justice partners
  • Deep commitment to community-based care and partnership-driven work

Preferred:

  • Experience with MRO, Recovery Works, or similar state-funded behavioral health programs
  • Familiarity with Medicaid, Social Security, criminal justice, and other public health systems
  • Background in Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) or Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) settings
  • Recognized as an LCAC or LAC by the State of Indiana

  • Deep personal commitment to the Mission, Vision, and Values of Aspire Indiana Health
  • Strong ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle highly confidential information with professionalism
  • Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting
  • Must have excellent collaboration, supervisory, and soft skills, such as relationship-building, communications, listening, negotiation and diplomacy
  • Must be able to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and the ability to problem solve and utilize critical thinking skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate the effective use of Aspire’s Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines
