Aspire Indiana Health is a nonprofit provider of comprehensive “whole health” services including primary medical care, behavioral health, recovery services and programs addressing the social drivers of health such as housing and employment. Aspire has health centers in four Central Indiana counties serving Hoosiers of all ages and walks of life. Mockingbird Hill Recovery Center opened in Anderson, in March 2021, bringing a major new treatment facility to Madison County for those with substance use disorder (SUD). It represents a new way of thinking about treating addiction: Instead of scattering the pieces to the recovery puzzle and expecting people to find them, we bring everything needed for long-term recovery right to them while providing a stable, safe place to live. 

 

Position Summary 

 

This position will provide quality primary health care services and medication management to patients at Aspire's Mockingbird Hill Recovery Center, and will perform as an independent and interdependent member of the medical services team providing general medical and behavioral health care to Aspire clients in need of services as assigned by the Medical Director.  If eligible, this position may also serve as a collaborator for APN's and Physician Assistant's.

 

MD/DO Education and Experience

  • Medical degree from a college/university accredited by the US Department of Education required
  • One (1) year experience with underserved communities preferred
  • Must be recognized as a Medical Doctor (MD) or a DO with Prescriptive Authority by the State of Indiana
  • Must have current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate and State of Indiana Controlled Substance Registration (CSR)
  • Prefer credentialing / board certification in field of expertise 
  • Must have current BLS certification

Physician Assistant Education and Experience 

 

  • Master’s degree as a Physician Assistant from a college/university accredited by the US Department of Education required
  • One (1) year experience with underserved communities preferred
  • Must be recognized as a Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority by the State of Indiana
  • Must have current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate and State of Indiana Controlled Substance Registration (CSR)
  • NCCPA Board Certification required
  • Must have current BLS certification

 

Nurse Practitioner Education and Experience 

 

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or a Doctorate degree in Nursing from a college/university accredited by the US Department of Education required
  • One (1) year experience with underserved communities preferred
  • Must be recognized as a Registered Nurse (RN) with Prescriptive Authority by the State of Indiana
  • Must have current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate and State of Indiana Controlled Substance Registration (CSR)
  • Must have ANCC or other certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Must have current BLS certification

  • Meet all clinical obligations of the Center’s medical practice, including CLIA, HIPAA, Medical State and Federal regulations
  • Ensure compliance with state licensure laws, state medication administration laws, etc.
  • Ability to properly code medical encounters
  • Have the ability to empathize and be compassionate to patient needs
  • Demonstrate respect for patient confidentiality practices
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide patient-centered care utilizing clinical best practice guidelines
  • Must be knowledgeable of social service systems (Medicaid, Social Security, etc.), community resources, legal systems, school systems and child welfare systems
  • Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting
  • Must be able to demonstrate the effective use of Aspire’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) and other technologies supporting quality patient care and disease management as it relates to clinical documentation
