Now interviewing for Life Skills Instructor for our Adult Home & Community Based Services Team (in Name of County)

Aspire Indiana Health is a nonprofit provider of comprehensive “whole health” services including primary medical care, behavioral health, recovery services and programs addressing the social determinants of health such as housing and employment. Aspire has health centers in five Central Indiana counties serving Hoosiers of all ages and walks of life.

Position Summary

The Life Skills Instructor will utilize a strengths-based, recovery-focused approach in a professional manner to teach adults, living with serious mental illness, the skills they need in order to reach their individual recovery goals.  This position will predominately provide services in the home and community setting.  Staff will travel within an assigned local geographic area. 

 

Education/Experience/Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of equivalent experience in a service capacity of individuals in need (children, youth, elderly, physically, emotionally and/or mentally disabled, special needs, etc.) OR a Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or a directly-related human service field from a college/university accredited by the US Department of Education required
  • If the position requires you to work with DCS, a minimum of four (4) years of equivalent experience in a service capacity of individuals in need (children, youth, elderly, physically, emotionally and/or mentally disabled, special needs, etc.) is required. (For positions that will work with DCS, experience must be in direct work for child welfare and/or protection) OR a Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or a directly-related human service field from a college/university accredited by the US Department of Education required
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or a directly-related human service field from a college/university accredited by the US Department of Education preferred (no equivalent experience needed)
  • Must possess/maintain a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance and a driving record that meets the guidelines and requirements of the organization
  • Must have the ability to use private car to transport self and others
