MACY is our 37-foot-long Ford F-550 that includes two medical exam rooms and an integrated wheelchair lift. Macy will provide medical visits and assessments, with a focus on addressing medical challenges for those who are homeless, experiencing mental health challenges and/or substance abuse disorders. 

Position Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant will provide primary and behavioral health services to patients/clients as part of Aspire's integration team. This position demands a high regard for integrated or whole person care with knowledge of nursing practices with the seriously mentally ill population. The mobile unit will initially deploy three days a week within the zip codes 46201, 46202, 46203, 46204, 46225, 46221 and 46218, leaving from Progress House.

Aspire Indiana Health is a nonprofit provider of comprehensive “whole health” services including primary medical care, behavioral health, recovery services and programs addressing the social determinants of health such as housing and employment. Aspire has health centers in five Central Indiana counties serving Hoosiers of all ages and walks of life.

Education/Experience/Requirements

  • Graduate of a two (2) year Medical Assistant program accredited by the U.S. Department of Education highly preferred. Certification or registration through an accrediting body is required (AAMA, NCCT, AMT, NHA, or NAHP)
  • One (1) year directly related experience in a service capacity of individuals in need (e.g., children, youth, elderly, physically, emotionally and/or mentally disabled, special needs, etc.) preferred. Previous clinical experience in a medical office setting highly preferred. 
  • Must have access to reliable transportation, maintain a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance and a driving record that meets the guidelines and requirements of the organization

Drug screen, TB test and extensive background checks (including Criminal History, Sex Offender Registry Search, State Central Registry Check, Education Verification, and Professional References) are required of all Aspire employees.
